Fact: Nicknamed “The Whirly Bird,” Walk was a surprise starter for the Pirates in Game 5 of the 1992 NLCS against the Braves, and threw a complete game three-hitter. Fifteen years later, the Pirates honored Walk with a free stadium giveaway during a Pirates-Nationals game: the Bob Walk Bobble Head.
