Fact: According to an anonymous teammate, “Freddie is a pleasant surprise.” Also, it’s unknown as to what Manrique was doing in 1982 and 1983, as those years are mysteriously missing from his stat sheet. He later played for the Rangers, Twins and A’s, ultimately retiring with his greatest feat coming in 1981, when he was the youngest major leaguer at age 19.
